Educational Programs

Introduction

To enhance possibilities for younger individuals, a mentoring experience has been incorporated into the Primary Immunodeficiency Disease Consortium.

Future research achievements in the PIDD are dependent on the entry of new physician/scientists into this field.
Information about the availability of opportunities is incorporated into the USIDNET web page.  Included are applications and links to apply for educational enrichment programs such as the annual 5 day PIDD Summer School program and the short term training program.

The mentoring component of USIDNET includes other specific programs for those considering a career in the PIDD.  Each year, traveling scholarships will be awarded to individuals to attend national or international meetings with a focus on Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases.

USIDNET is funded by The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), which are components of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services. NIAID supports research to advance the understanding of transplantation and to prevent, diagnose and treat infectious and immune-mediated illnesses. USIDNET administrative support is provided by the
Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) .
