Short-term Training Program
The USIDNET short-term training program is titled the Visiting Immunology Scholar. The program is designed to support the clinical and laboratory training experiences of medical students, residents and fellows. To increase the exposure of interested young physicians or scientists to these diseases, a visiting student elective is offered which provides the opportunity to spend one to two weeks at another medical center which specializes in the study of one or more aspects of primary immune deficiency.
This program is available to MD or MD, PhD candidates, giving them the opportunity to visit a Medical Center with PIDD expertise and a large patient population. This opportunity permits first hand observation of patient evaluation and treatment, familiarization with laboratory techniques, or both.

Reimbursement Travel Expense Scholarships up to $1,000 for one week or $2,000 for two weeks
USIDNET will now be accepting Visiting Immunology Scholar Program applications during these time frames:
Jan 1st – April 30th Awards will be made by May 15th
May 1st – August 30th Awards will be made by September 15th
September 1st – December 30th Awards will be made by January 15th

Prospective applicants must submit:
- A curriculum vitae
- A career statement outlining goals and the potential impact of a traveling scholarship experience on attaining those goals
- Letter of support from your Department Head
